Wan-Chun (Alex) Ma is now a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Paul Debevec's Graphics Lab in Institute for Creative Technologies, University of Southern California. He received his PhD degree in computer science and information engineering from National Taiwan University in 2008. He did his thesis research at the Graphics Research Group in Communication and Multimedia Lab, with Ming Ouhyoung, Yung-Yu Chuang, and Bing-Yu Chen. Prior to his graduation, He was a visiting researcher at Paul's lab from 2005 to 2008.
He has been honorably discharged from Ministry of National Defense Symphony Orchestra, Republic of China (Taiwan) as a Private E-2 (PV2) after a ten-month mandatory military service, starting from September 2008 to July 2009. (Pictures/Video)
His research interests include facial animation, reflectance modeling, computational photography, real-time rendering, and general purpose GPU techniques.
