About Me

I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science at National Taiwan University under the supervision of Prof. Winston H. Hsu and Prof. Hong-Yuan Mark Liao. From 2013 to 2014, I was doing visiting research at Columbia University, supervised by Prof. Shih-Fu Chang.

I am currently a research scientist at FX Palo Alto Laboratory (FXPAL) .

Research Abstract

My research focuses on social media analytics by leveraging user-contributed data as social sensors. My further interests include: Location/User/Group Profiling and Recommendation, Multimedia Retrieval and Mining, Affective Computing, Machine Learning.

Nov. 2014 Congratulations to our group for winning the Multimodal Award in ACM Multimedia Grand Challenge 2014.
Aug. 2014 Four co-authored papers (1 FULL, 2 short, 1 grand challenge solution) are accepted by ACM Multimedia 2014.
Feb. 2014 Our paper "Predicting Viewer Affective Comments Based on Image Content in Social Media" is accepted by ACM ICMR 2014.
Dec. 2013 A co-authored paper "Scalable Face Track Retrieval in Video Archives using Bag-of-Faces Sparse Representation" is accepted on IEEE TCSVT.
Oct. 2013 Congratulations to our group for winning the FIRST PRIZE in MSR-Bing Image Retrieval Challenge 2013, hosted by Microsoft Research (Redmond) and Bing.
